agrajag: Smooth Killing (kind of) includes 4 combat and 2 objective based jobs each week. Captures aren't really created anymore and LTS have been partially replaced by Deathmatches allowing limited lives and many other modifier settings now. Aug 6, 2024 19:56:17 GMT

VANQUISH #8
A 2 or 3 Playlist Event showcasing the newest and most innovative Last Team Standings that the GCCC has to offer, with an optional Xtra playlist closing out the night.

Each Playlist will consist of 4-5 jobs, and we'll aim for two Matches consisting of quick-fire rounds, whilst the rest could have the possibility of becoming a little more drawn out. Matches will be played first to 2 or 3, depending on recommendations, consensus and general exhaustion levels.

HOW TO JOIN
Crew pre-lobby will open at 7:30PM with invites and reminders sent out periodically. A PS4 Portal Party will be hosted by me, Hephaestos76 add me on PSN.
Invites for the first playlist will go out at around 8PM BST, giving you five to ten minutes to join.

Rules and requirements
The usual rules for Crew lobbies will apply, so let's not be killing each other until the event gets underway (unless a Freemode Event demands it). Please ensure you are not wearing bulletproof or motorcycle helmets, as these both can confer an unfair advantage within jobs. Finally, please remove invisible or glitched clothing whilst participating.

JC2's enclosed train track themed jobs continue in an effort to create the ultimate chaotic experience, where skill and prowess won't necessarily help you, rather you are more likely to be killed by a train thundering through the arena or the debris it throws up as it transits through. On the plus side, those players glitching outside the arena could get back in via a ramp, but as a negative it seemed easier for players to get up to the outer rim of the arena and avoid train based death.

[PS4] Arched by some12hate
A well-constructed arena built into the arch of steel frame bridge. Two teams spawn either side of the arch and automatically assume that the battle is forward, but the arch is blocked in the centre, so the two teams can just shoot out here and there is cover, health and weapon pickups here to aid in this battle. However, the real fight is for control of a container tunnel that links the two sides and which gives those who are victorious here the opportunity to flank the other team and attack from their rear. This got my vote and ultimately won the poll this week.

Bulldog Pantos vs Dozers by AlanBold1983
Another imaginative creation from the maddogovleeds, which though still in need of a bit of work, was enjoyable nonetheless. Unfortunately the Pantos are just too fast and nippy and can get around and past the dozers before the incredibly slow and gutless machines can manoeuvre to block them or the ramps which lead to the homing launchers and victory. Annoyingly the Pantos can even ram the dozers out of the way, which would never happen in reality. A pinch point or two on the approach might work, or spawning the dozers closer to the ramps, or perhaps changing the Pantos for Caddy's or Baggage Handlers. I love the way Alan's mind works and the innovative and experimental creations he makes, so more please.

3 Way LTS around the quays at La Puerta, unnecessarily set with Wanted levels on, so cops will always be bothering players, particularly those closest to the roads. There is a fair supply of weapons, though much of them are in the open, so players have to expose themselves to re-arm and cover is sparse. It also seemed rather chaotic with quite a few explosions too, but perhaps this was the intention.

Surprisingly for a Combat MG & Jet (Lazer & Hydra) Vs Everything ground-based and heavy (Combat MG, Rhino, Insurgent Pickup, Homing Launcher, Minigun, Heavy Sniper) this seems to be fairly well balanced. One team starts at LSA, whilst the other is on top of a container ship at the docks. The tanks are out in the open and are a fool's choice, because they instantly attract homing launchers, but some of the Armed Insurgents are positioned under a canopy next to the conning tower (the big tall bit where the bridge, galley etc are located) and when they have no driver, they are not susceptible to homing rockets, so strafing runs are needed and the routes for these strafing runs are limited, making the pilots take predictable paths in their attacks. Could perhaps do with smaller canopies at the Bow and Stern, so the defenders can gun from these exposed positions too.

For a start the rounds for this are just too long. An LTS should not be more than ten minutes long, because that's about as long as people are willing to spectate and wait for the next round, much longer and they will rage/boredom quit. Prop stacking seems rather haphazard anloating platforms d hurried and a bit more attention could be paid here, because there are areas where players can glitch under floating platforms and be virtually unreachable except with the explosive rounds of the incredibly over-powered and unnnecessary Valkyrie. I think even the modified Valkyrie would still be overpowered and really the sensible thing would be to close up these niches and do away with the armed helicopters.

3 Way Obstacle Course by Loftonian
An adaptation of the "Classic" Duckhunt (first made by Model_One?), where two teams of Snipers have to take each other out in a sniper battle, before the victors turn their attention to the 'runners' who are actually winding their way up a sweeping ramp in baggage handlers to the Heavy Weapons at the end - I presume, because we never got there. I love the idea and the execution, but found that the cover for the runners became more rather than less scarce, the closer to the sniper platforms the runners got. It was suggested that the sniper battle could be delayed until after the runners were dead, but in this case the runners would certainly need more cover.

Neat and simple 2 team LTS at a Mexican Market in Alta, that I didn't even know existed. Well laid out cover and weapons pick-ups, combine to make a fast-paced, LTS where teamwork certainly is key. A few culturally appropriate muscle cars are provided for rapid flanking manoeuvres and even drive-by's. Got my vote.

That Dam Duckhunt 30P by ManOfFire
An update of a duckhunt I made for 14 players before the Creator update, where the run up to the weapons remains unchanged from the original, but the sniper platform and enclosure have been altered to accomodate more people. The run to the top of the dam can be fast if you are nimble and fleet, but one step wrong and you can find yourself sliding off an edge and having to run and climb up from the bottom again. The snipers will find - as @jager181 did - that trying to blow up the gas canisters on their platform will likely result in everyone dying, not just themselves - something designed in to prevent such underhanded behaviour.

Snipers Vs Invisible Runs by toguekio
Duckhunt with a bit of a difference, where for some of the run, the runners are in a container tunnel, but can be killed by exploding gas canisters. A nice, slightly different take on the duckhunt format, though I'd like to see more of the invisible run or just a longer run to the weapons, as multiple runners can get through in a bunch relatively easily.

RPG Battle across the Davis Quartz Quarry, with a few floating platform barriers making bunkers around the spawn areas, opening out into the bowl of the quarry where a ring of trees floats above a few walkways meandering between the teams and a lot off explosive vehicles deter one from running across the bottom of the quarry - at least until they've all exploded. The trees allow you to see your opponents, but sometimes branches get in the way preventing shots from getting to the target. Loads of room to keep moving, though a lot of the kill shots seem to be blind luck where players run on to RPGs as their opponents fire randomly in their direction. A degree of chanc, combined with a bit of skill and some balls will get the win here.

A confusing obstacle course/ parkour/ dynamic~trap~duckhunt with rules inthe description to only shoot the various traps (dynamic props, vehicles) that can finish off the runners. Unfortunately, many people don't read descriptions, and so the first play through of this saw runners getting shot and killed the first time they came into view shimmying across a ledge. I appreciate the sentiment with these elective rules, but it seems to me they just aren't practical and a long unpainted barrier suspended in front of this ledge would stop these killings. As it was, no teams got past the second exploding gas tank immediately in front of the sniper platform, even on subsequent play-through's with the elective rules being observed. This is a very tricky parkour, if you like that kind of thing.

Highest demo derby in GTA2 by KrustyKrab
Demo Derby using Ripley airport tugs, where the globe for the arena is too small to accomodate the players once they have spawned and so they are given ten seconds at the outset to get into their vehicle and drive off the starting platform to join the demo derby. Unfortunately only the first four players on each team have time to get into vehicles and into the globe, before ten seconds are up, resulting in as many as 11 players on each team being disqualified immediately. There must be another way to encourage people off the starting platform - perhaps more starting platforms arranged in a ring, so everyone is equidistant from the edge.

Homeless town raid by crookedxxman
Well-constructed pistol and shotgun LTS in an enclosed arena built around the Police Station at Paleto Bay. Lots of cover and props arranged to enable flanking, plus a couple of good vantages which require a bit of risk taking to access, but which are beneficial once there. Weapon pick-ups are scarce, but appropriate given the avalable space.

Trains, helicopters, Pantos, Hearses, Dozers and a few dynamic props work together to create a chaotic battle in this enclosed, elongated hour-glass arena at the power station. Trains will periodically stop in the middle of the arena - which can sometimes be an issue and sometimes not, depending on the height of the train cars. The platform is placed at such a height that only the engine and taller train cars pass through the arena, than but they do make this demo derby more chaotic than it otherwise would be. Players can also park a car over a low train car whilst it is stationary and it then is dragged to the opposition's end and explodes, hopefully taking some of them with it. A few helicopters outside the arena give those who fall or are shoved out, a means to attack again and to bring more chaos to the battle. Some of the prop placement seems a little uneven and could do with neatening up, nonetheless it got my vote.

Tubogun by luanroh
Panto demo derby, which brings a fresh map to the format, but the construction is a bit sloppy with floating platforms and ramps misaligned, meaning cars can brick-wall or rail-slide on edges which shouldn't even be there. Players start on platforms and must get to the battle arena via a slope and jump, but can get back up via a ramp made from painted barriers. Would like to replay after it has been neatened up a bit.
