agrajag: Smooth Killing (kind of) includes 4 combat and 2 objective based jobs each week. Captures aren't really created anymore and LTS have been partially replaced by Deathmatches allowing limited lives and many other modifier settings now. Aug 6, 2024 19:56:17 GMT

agrajag: No old jobs are fine (you just won't be able to update them). The only exception is if you updated during a 2 week (ish) period when Rockstar changed them into blue barriers. Nov 20, 2024 15:14:28 GMT

Event Settings for Hosts & Attendees

Go to Start > Online > Options in game
Allow Spectate: Yes - People can rejoin the event you are in by spectating you.
Matchmaking: Closed - Avoids the time limit when inviting players to event playlists. Helps lock the event to our crew, too.
Make sure to leave the Client Invites: on!

JOINING PS4 EVENTS

How to join any GCCC PS4 Event

Make sure GCCC is your Active Crew in order for you to get in-game invites & crew notifications.
Be online and on time - check the countdown clock in the Event Edition topic.
Add the event host to your PSN Friends.
Most hosts use a party "portal" where you can join the party and then 'join game' on the host/co-host (or wait for party invites). Once you are in the event you can leave the party or stay in to chat.
Check your phone for Job Invites and PSN notifications for a GTA Session Invite from the event host (you may also get invites from other people within the lobby).
If you're late we highly recommend you join a "invite only" session (you join sessions quicker from here). Join the party portal and/ or message the host (remembering many hosts who stream have notifications turned off so message them via their streams, usually found on the event thread).

Please give constructive feedback while the event is running! Use your mic (share your mic to streams via party settings), on the Event Edition Topic or via the job links on social club directly. Take group photos using Snapmatic and tag them #GCCC and check out if the event has an Event Tag.

Connection issues

Connection issues still plague GTA online and GTA's servers are notorious for being unreliable at best. However there's still a few good guides out there to rule out any issues at your end:

Rockstar Support - A short guide explaining the minimum recommended requirements for GTA online, NAT types and router settings.
Fixing Lag issues/Connection Timeouts created by mo-seph. In depth guide explaining lag and some possible solutions to attempt.

Joining a Pre-Event Freemode Session

Find out who is hosting the session by looking on social club for details. This will usually be the host of the main event
Start > Online > Crews > My Crews > Content Creators PS4> View Members or Start > Friends
Scroll to the host of the Freemode session
Press X and choose Join Game (due to GTA's unique invite system you'll often get a "player not in session" error using this method. Try joining the party portal if this is the case).

Hosting Your Job in a 'Round the Room' Event (Anyone)

Decide what you'll play before you join the event.
Invite All From Last Job (Keeps the room together)
Invite All Crew Members
Invite From Crew Members and individually add each one, even if it already says invited.

HOSTING PS4 EVENTS - BEFORE YOU HOST

IMPORTANT: Requirements for any GCCC event

In order to host an event you need to be a lieutenant (or above), have a lieutenant (or above) co-host or be "sponsored" by a lieutenant (or above). Forum posts should be regular, as should the event itself - failure to do this (or any of the below points) means the event can be pulled from the calendar on a 3 strikes and you're out policy.
It is your responsibility to uphold the crew rules, make sure any banned members are excluded from events (Comm only blacklist / listen to any commissioner advice)
The forum post should contain the list of jobs played, a poll for the event and basic information about the event (host, how to join, how to submit jobs)
(Ideally) Attendee lists should be produced after events, primarily so we can promote regular event attendees. Any host without help/ co-host will be dealt with less harshly for this though.
(Ideally) Reviews should be produced to provide constructive feedback to creators as well as any streams so creators unable to attend can still benefit from their jobs being played.

Formulate a plan

If you're a little unsure on the format of the event or any details ask for feedback in the hosting thread. This is also a good place to ask for a co-host, event hosting is a hands-on experience so the more help you can get the easier and more enjoyable you'll likely find it.
Make sure there's space for your event within the PS4 calender.
In order to get your event added to the PS4 calender contact the calendar admin listed within the PS4 calender page.

Create an Event Edition Topic (example)

EVENT TOPIC

Event Title - Event Edition Number - Date & Time. Make sure you note the timezone, using your timezone or UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
Example: GCCC ABC #1 - Tue April 7th, 10pm BST (UTC +1)
Use the time converter to convert your time zone to UTC if you want.

OR

SEASON TOPIC

Instead of the above you can create one topic for each season.

Event Title - Season Number - Day & Time. Make sure you note the timezone, using your timezone or UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
Example: GCCC ABC S01 - Tue April 7th, 10pm BST (UTC +1)
Use the time converter to convert your time zone to UTC if you want.

TOPIC CONTENT

Add a Poll to your topic with the job titles +/ creator (first button next to Subject text field). Best to set a maximum of votes (top 3 preferred). And a date when the poll closes (f.e. one week after the event took place)
You could create some images and a banner to 'advertise' your event and include them to the topic.
Add a countdown clock (find out how) if you wish, or link to the PS4 Calendar which should make it easier to understand for those in different timezones to your own.
Post a link to the Event Edition Topics by using Advanced Search: Open the Search tab at the top of this page, enter Event name in "What to search..." and "PS4 Events" board in "Where to search...", then copy the page link.
Post a link to the Event Submission Topic (info below)
Post some info about the event
Post your Event Tags.
Post a list of the jobs that will be played in this event. Job Type (use smileys) - Job Name - Job Creator - Job Link
Add a list of Event Attendees
Credit the people that helped you set it up
Add a list of previous Event Editions
Add a link to the joining guide (what you're now reading) so people know how to join your event

Create an Event Submission Topic (example)

You only have to create one submission topic for the event. Submissions should be flowing in there weekly.
Create a topic in the PS4 Share section with title: Event Name - Submissions (f.e. Event Submissions) or [Event Criteria] Event Name - Submissions (f.e. [30 player races] Raceday Wednesday Submissions)
Post a link to the Event Edition Topics by using Advanced Search: Open the Search tab at the top of this page, enter Event name in "What to search..." and "PS4 Events" board in "Where to search...", then copy the page link.
Post a link to the Event Review Topic (info below)
Post some info about the event, in particular the submission rules for the event.
Post your Event Tags.

HOSTING PS4 EVENTS - HOSTING DUTIES

Gathering players

Commissioners only: Change the crew status on the crew wall
Commissioners only: Advertise the event through crew message when the crew lobby opens and when the playlist invites are sent out (at leat)
If it is a official (on the calendar) GCCC event post a party portal invite in the "GCCC Event Chat" too.
Create a pre-event lobby to gather players. Story Mode, Start button > Online > Play GTA Online > Closed Crew Session
Keep the event flowing as much as possible, a 2 minute gap between playlists is always nice but try to keep the jobs flowing as much as you can.

Who to invite

Hosts have great power...but with great power comes great responsibility. Try to exercise common sense when inviting players to join so all your hard work thus far isn't ruined!

Affiliated crews and friendly crews - Dealt with as similarly to GCCC members as possible, particularly for cross-crew events. So if the host recognises the tag as friendly they'll allow them into the event, regardless if the member is actually in GCCC.
Friends - Allowed into events with any tag at the hosts discretion.
They should be vouched for in most cases, particularly for events with precise rules (e.g. FA events). Their behaviour is then this persons responsibility and any action taken against the friend will also apply to the person who's vouched for them (e.g. crew discipline).
Unknowns - Allowed into events with any tag at the hosts discretion. However caution should be exercised (ie check bulletproof helmet, K/D and social club if possible for misbehaviour), particularly for events with precise rules (e.g. FA events).

PSN Message Groups

You are encouraged to message within in events on the "GCCC Active Chat" (general chit-chat) or "GCCC Event chat" group PSN chats (dropped out of lobby, need invite, etc).
Most of the mic conversations will take place within party chat.

Hosting a 'Round the Room' Event (Host)

You will be the ringmaster of what can turn into a circus! Players take turns, each hosting one of their jobs.
Create a safe Freemode before the event: Story Mode, Start button > Online > Play GTA Online > Closed Crew Session
Invite crew members into the Freemode. Start > Online > Crews > My Crews > GTA Content Creators > View Members or Start > Friends. Click X on the person to invite and then send a game invite.
Write down who joins. This is the order they will host their job.

HOSTING PS4 EVENTS - AFTER EVENT

Your job isn't over yet, add some constructive reviews for your event, a event write-up and snapmatics taken during the event if you have time to your event/ review topic.

If you decide you don't want to host a event again, or change it's time, day or host make sure you let the calendar admin, listed within the PS4 calender page, know.
