Week 10 scores and notes

1) $M$ GRAPESEED by mariolopez1992
Beautiful tour of Grapeseed. Great start to the playlist.

2.checkpoints: Generally very good in the first half, but in the second, several are placed too early or late. And one or two extra to requirements.
4.containment: Really well identified and protected areas of high risk, but still a fair few ditches, tiny encroachments and hazards. Also lacking props or protection on a couple of apexes.

2) Senora Junkyard GT by xxR-U-Wxx
Lovely smooth desert track with some nice tricky sections to challenge drivers not paying full attention!

2.checkpoints: A handful of checkpoints are positioned too early and arguably one or two of excess checkpoints.
4.containment: A few problems here - rails emerging from rumble strips, some unprotected high risk corners, a couple of questionable apex props, some encroachment of objects into the track... the big one being the pole in the middle of the track.
5.removables: The fencing explodes onto the track by the salvage yard. And there are a bunch of dynamic props (pipes and log stacks) that have been added that can cause problems for other drivers if hit. There's also cactus - but I don't know if they evaporate or do affect other drivers, so I haven't counted them.

3) Vortex's Need 4 Speed by jcbvortex
groovy little track with a surprising amount of character. Looks great and generally the build is of the highest order - but there's also a surprising amount of issues for such a short track too. Its a great track, but it seems like it needed a bit more love on the final details to be up with Vortex's best tracks

2.checkpoints: Despite it being such a short track there are 2 checkpoints serving no purpose (10/12), 13+17 could be combined, arguably perhaps so could 6+7 for better communication.
3.smooth: The on and off transition with the main road stood out as harder angles than I'd expect for 3pts in such a short track.
4.containment:there's a tree after the first turn on the wrong side of the wall, the chicane is high risk without any protection, there's a telegraph pole sticking out the ground inside the line that's offered by the apex prop.

4) GRIDS Prisoner GP by palabrad0r
Holy Moley! This is one of those tracks you do not forget. Utilizing an unusual, and envelope pushing, spot in the prison is one thing, but doing it with such a Hollywood flow as well... stunning! The rest of the track is great too, but there's a clear star of the show here.

2.checkpoints: It's pretty heavy on the checkpoints, there's 2 clear unnecessary CPs... but I think there's an argument for more that could be combined (especially if a couple more props could be employed to stop shortcuts)
8.propcare: It's a bit harsh given the ambition of wonderful transitions here, but any other race would lose a point for the staggered track edges on CP19 or 20. (and things look a bit jaggy under the bridges)
9.structure: As beautiful as the transitions are, the track has been left wafer thin and unsupported in some very clear places. And although not a huge deal, I also would mention the excess of the giant block piece going up the hill is clearly showing from a distance.

5) GRIDS FAST PASS by duberuby
And another sensational track from the house of Grids. Such a pleasure to drive this one. Apart from the niggles I've mentioned below, it looks fantastic, and I love the bank on the home stretch - I love a good bank, i rarely have enough props left to do them these days. I'm a bit distressed by the score I have to give here, it doesn't reflect the essential pleasure it is to drive the track - but that's the technical nature of this.

2.checkpoints: A 180 rarely needs 3 checkpoints. Plus the bottleneck chicanes... there's maybe 12 more checkpoints here than needed!
4.containment: I can't ignore we've got hillside running inside the rumbles and there's modest some drop risks that seal the deal.
8.propcare: I was on the fence with this, but leaning towards overlooking the slightly raggedy track lines in places due to the ambition of such wonderful undulations... but then I remembered the black line I thought was a snapline at first but is actually the ceiling of the area below that's been allowed to protrude into the racing surface (also, the gaps after the chicane).
9.structure: This open-ended corner propping really exposes the track's underwear + the underside of the final uphill.

6) #POL Shasta Stream by philanthropol
What a night of tracks this was. Personally speaking, this is just the best track of Phil's I've had the pleasure of racing.

6.snags: Some small areas of steel railings.
9.structure: The bridge at the end is a wafer, and also there's a section in the high bit where you can see under the track, and it spoils the illusion a bit.

7) [HEAT OVER HERE] by Munagekouji
Nice clean Paleto track that brilliantly integrates some generous original sections to bring fresh challenges to these familiar streets.

2.checkpoints: One unnecessary CP and a couple that could be placed a little more helpfully.
4.containment: Some clear low risk of falls on the beach area. Also, the apex prop on CP9 is low and leaves a high chance of kicking drivers into the left side area which is not walled off on a relatively tight bit of road.
5.removables: A lot of lampposts and other potentially impactful objects around the track.
9.structure: There is a clear hollow/unsupported section in the latter half of the beach section.
