Raceday Wednesday Format:
1 playlists containing 14 races. These races will be hosted by stone_xo at 8:00 pm GMT/BST(Main Lobby)
A US rerun will be hosted at 01:00 am GMT/BST (8 pm EST) by PurpleHaze for US timezone folks.
Raceday Wednesday Voting Policy:
ALL VOTES WILL BE MADE ON THIS SITE. They will be made on that particular weeks topic.
Every attendee votes for their top 4 picks.
Votes will be counted as follows:
1st pick = 5 Points
2nd pick = 4 Points
3rd pick = 3 Points
4th pick = 2 Points
(If you can't make it to the event, you can always replay the playlist with your friends and still vote! Just make sure that you have played ALL of the jobs in the playlist before voting!)
You MAY vote for your own job, but honesty is highly encouraged. Having an objective view may be hard when you are emotionally invested but please be fair and treat your race as if it were a creation of somebody else!
Also I recommend writing a short review/remark about your top pics, especially if you’re voting for your own race to get first place…
Some additional points to consider when casting your vote:
We highly appreciate a more in depth approach when it comes to voting!!!
Most people would simply vote for the races which they percieved as being the most "fun". Please be aware that the "fun factor" is very subjective. Also there are a lot of random factors that can influence your experience when playing a race.
Examples:
Voting on subjective factors:
- You did very good in a race and got first place. This can then subconsciously alter your perception of how "fun" the race was. If played on another night you might have had "bricking" issues due to large lobby issues. In that case you would have probably not have had the same amount of fun playing it.
Confirmation Bias:
- You have certain expectancies and/or biases towards certain types of races or certain creators. Going into the race with a predetermined expectancy (positive or negative) greatly increases the chance of you subconsciously validating your bias. It then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. You will see the race for what you want it to be and not for what it (objectively) is. This phenomenon is often observed when people vote for their friends races or when people neglect top builds because they personally don't like the creator.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course it it impossible to be 100% objective but at the same time please be aware of how many subjective factors play into your decision subconsciously. Try to be aware of these and eliminate them as best as possible.
I myself completely disregard the "fun factor" of a race when voting. Whether it has any replay value to me is irrelevant. I often vote for races that have no replay value to me because of other factors I look at when casting my votes.
Here are some of the factors that I consider when I vote for races:
- build quality
- difficulty of a build
- attention paid to detail
- idea
- execution of the idea
- originality
- flow of the race
- checkpoint placement
- use of the area
- Other (Job Pic, atmosphere, etc)
- on stunt races (good entry and exit? or just randomly placed at airport or beach)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We will have 4 winners each week. Those winners will enter WINNERS WEDNESDAY at the end of the month to compete against the winning races of the other Raceday Wednesdays of the respective month.
Votes WILL be visible for all to see on the weekly topic. Please include your psn id if it differs from your name on here. You can also run Raceday Wednesday by yourself with your GCCC friends or others during the week and place your vote on the weekly topic. Just bookmark the playlist and off you go. Your votes will be considered as a non event attendee but still always worth being active in the crew.
The winners will be crowned Tuesday evening.
