GCCC's Premier Showcase

Our revamped "best of" event showcases the top voted jobs, of all types, from our daily events which in-turn make up the longlists for our GCCC Verified+ process. This is the crew's event with each job chosen by popular demand and quality checked by our team to be shared with you each and every week!

Format

The event is made from all types of jobs from all of our events to make 2 playlists of 7 jobs, supporting 24-30 players. Every four week after Deathstroke auto-aim runs we'll run this in free-aim to ensure all our jobs from our free-aim events get to be enjoyed in their optimum aim settings.

Rules

All normal crew rules apply (derp). As this is the premier showcase to bring together all creators please leave constructive feedback for any jobs you feel need that extra bit of attention (don't be that downvoting misery guts). Guests are welcome if we're not full but should be clearly vouched for on mic/ via PSN message to the host - you'll be responsible for any of their misbehaviour so choose wisely. The following applies only to the free-aim events:

No weapon whacking. Unarmed/Melee weapons are allowed. Accidental hits will happen so a simple apology will suffice in most cases, just don't make a habit of it/ do it on purpose.
Use only the "free-aim" targeting mode i.e. No "free-aim assisted". You can check this in your settings and will receive less RP in the post-game screen (after crew bonus taken into account).

The most important rule is have a good time and allow everyone else to do likewise, simple!

Votes

Votes are welcome but are only used to educate the expert judges in our Verified+ process as to which jobs went down best. Constructive feedback, even for just one job, is much more powerful in providing creators with meaningful feedback to improve their jobs. These jobs may represent the best, but feedback can often elevate these jobs to the "best of the best".

Thanks jjn1lfc I'll put you down as permanent co-host (/backup host) so you'll be up if one the commissioners can't make it. Just make sure you let us know ASAP if you can't make it, you may be the plan B but most commissioners get busy at weekends so you'll be essential.

Start how you mean to go on and all that here's some reviews:

Off-road race: Blow Me! by juicy
+ + Fun playing a jump race, no crazy stunts just a good "old-fashioned" ooo that's a high jump kinda race. Route was fun and varied with nice use of the slow down strips. The track goes in and out of water yet remains pretty much untrolly, subtle enough to add to the track without ever getting annoying.
+ - Initial slow down strip is missable, either meaning you can intentionally get a faster lap or unintentionally fly off the track.
- - Some of the elevation changes (up-hill) are too extreme meaning they work as jumps. One of the early corners has this issue just before a turn (didn't note CP number though) which means you can easily fly off here. The downhill section is fun but the landing zone is too narrow, adding the landing zone prop/ blocks on either side of the track would help immensely, particularly as this section is blind from the top of the hill.
TDM: Temple Complex by o_ManOfFire_o
+ + One of my faves from Heps "White Album", as I like to call it. Scale is good and the area used is immediately recognisable despite being drastically changed. Keeping to the original area layout keeps a certain amount of character too. Weapon choice was good and this seemed perfectly scaled to me for 4 teams with the 16 we had.
+ - Corridor gameplay wasn't as enjoyable as the more open areas for me. A few more shotguns would help imo. I'm always going to prefer more open maps anyway though.
- - The high part of the map is a little too OP (where the sniper is). My team controlled this area for most of the map and it was quite easy to get a good kill streak going thanks to overlooking large portions of the map and health + armour pickups provided. There's nothing wrong with powerful positions on a map of course but health and armour should be provided to weak positions, not the most powerful. Pretty minor stuff but it did end up making a substantial difference in gameplay imo.
Race: Brands Hatch Indy by atheistsw
+ + Haven't got much to say about this...other than this is pretty much why I haven't created races in ages. The use of the stunt props is perfection creating a good free-flowing route with the initial bump adding the character required to elevate this from the meh to the excellent.
+ - Damn that first corner though
Capture: Stealing Christmas by loftonian
+ + Balance is fine and I liked how the roofs were made more accessible which helped spread gameplay about
- - A few basic capture mistake made though here. Bags are all centrally located creating a bottleneck in larger lobbies where 30 players all go for a single location. Spreading the bags out would help this map immensely in larger lobbies. The respawn zones are positioned between the bases and the cases meaning one of the routes to delivery is cut off; that and the unintentional spawn killing that results from centrally located respawns is the biggest flaw with this. Respawns would be better off to the side / behind your own base. The 1st round was quite enjoyable but the longer this goes on the more the flaws began to niggle, with a few tweaks though this could be easily resolved.
Bike Stunt: Drop Into Kortz by coachwargo
+ + Very enjoyable to play something both under-created and under-appreciated. The use of the area was good as the route weaves in and out of the various alleys before sliding down the nearby hill. The addition of the signs to help guide where the CPs fail is also a particular highlight here.
+ - The jump needing a bunny hop is too subtle (between the middle levels in Kortz). Sirens would help as well as something in the description (damn I'm suggesting adding them garish things). It's one of the few skill elements of the job that I think does add to it but does need better warning's adding.
LTS: LTS: Kortz Warz by ajm_agrajag
My job, happy with this now.
Stunt race: Canalparty by geenopa
+ + I've made no secret of just how much I like these jobs. Genuinely unique, well built and incredibly fun to drive. The use of the secondary checkpoints to show where the route is heading next is really clever.
- - CP 13 and 14 just seem odd. I can't really think why you need these.

Playlist b

LTS: BUZZARDS VS SNIPERS+RPGs by themckeever
+ + Design work on the main compound is nice creating a multi-level layout with a few good hidey holes. Placing the RPGs in the most risky location (centre which is likely to get hit the most) is a nice touch too.
+ - Technicals, presumably added for balance, just don't work as you can lock on to them in the Buzzard. It's likely this flaw isn't apparent in free-aim though.
- - In auto-aim the balance is all out and it's too easy for the Buzzard team. The compound is too small and lacking the power required to take out the Buzzards. A larger platform coupled with a few Miniguns or Homing Lauchers is required to make this work in auto-aim. Placing the Miniguns near the Technicals would be perfect imo as they're both about as useful as each other but the Miniguns would be a perfect back-up for Auto-aim.
Stunt race: °S80° Hellfire by superalex80
+ + One of my favourite new stunt races I've played and certainly the best from superalex. In some of your other races it feels like a kid in a toy factory desperate to make use of every single toy in every race; this though feels refined where you've created a fast paced race but made it easy to follow, particularly the large upward spiral which has a nice run up to it so it's clear your expected to go up (even with the stupid zoomed in camera). There's enough skill elements so you're not just playing this on auto too, a criticism that can fairly be levelled at quite a few well built new stunt races. Great construction all round.
+ - CPs on the corners are placed too narrow on the straights leading you into poles creating obstructions for those near the back. These poles could easily be propped off with the CPs nudged outwards.
TDM: Polar Battle Pool by Mr. Echo
+ + Damn this was tense. Slow paced tactical map with the perfect blend of Marksmen pistol and normal sniper in a well thought out "iceberg" map. Unusually for auto-aim swim maps you're not exposed when moving between the bergs thanks to the low re-fire rate of both weapons. Really well thought out
+ - Centre of the map felt like it could do with a reward factor. There's a few bombs scattered about but none on the central Iceberg. Adding some reward for making the dangerous trip would add a little extra something to a already great map.
Race: Grapeseed Motor Park by lancerevowrc
+ + Yawn Lancer does it again. Fantastic, especially in the muscle class with a bit of rain spicing up the last lap too. The last corner is a work of art in using the new props with the elevation change creating a superb sweeping corner that makes or breaks a lap. Enough elevation changes to add character with stunt props used well to smooth the worse bits of road and mark the track boundaries. My favourite of the night and clearly I'm not alone.
+ - Muscle default would be nice, not everything needs to be Super or Sports.
- - First corner track boundaries could be better marked. There's a sign on the outside that I really didn't expect on my 2nd lap that really feels like it should be on the left on the large Junk sign (saying that you have got rumble strips there so I should of known better).
Capture: Cops vs Pirates: Lakewars by Scam144
+ + Glad we saved this one until the New Year with the newly armoured tug boat. I wouldn't of thought this would work with just one capture object but the endless change in who controlled the boat making this pretty epic.
+ - 15 minutes feels too much, 10 was ample for the 14 or so we had in and any longer would of probably felt like a bit of a drag. By minute 10 I'd be happy for whoever had the most kills to win.
Stunt race: #^ LS Airport DW 0890 ¥ by AlphyX
+ - Olllddd Skool indeed. With the gap between the outer propping and high inside propping this felt very PS3. However it did work with the newer stunt cars (Tempesta anyway) although it was massively overpowered for some of the jumps.
LTS: Super Bomberman #1L4A by Mandible_Claw-
+ + Perfect...that's what your meant to say about the bosses job right? Just as good a concept as the original but with the added upper level adding err...another level to the job. I died early in all the rounds thanks to some incredible lag (one punch turning into a Ali-esque flurry of punches) so can't really say very much about this.

Big thanks to everyone who created, shared and played tonight's jobs. It was much longer than I expected (I seem to have chosen all the 4 teamed LTS all in one night, doh) but was loads of fun. Sorry to a few players who just couldn't seem to get in (Jose, Remko, Cypher), although we managed a whole night without a playlist crash things can never be perfect with GTA's notorious servers. (Also sorry for being that scumbag winning the playlist as host...hosts advantage is still as real on next-gen as it seemed like every head shot counted tonight

. I'll take the odd perk hehe.)

Doesn't race, can't kill a fly: not into pvp. Just creates. Prefers teamplay. Likes jobs using ingame environment & off the beaten path.

I agree. Great job those reviews. As for your question: CP13 and CP14 are there so that their secondary CPs show the three ways in which you can take the turning point. Maybe I am stretching the communicative quality of the CPs a bit there! Watch the red CPs in the distance as you drive through 13 14 and 15.

agrajag , Thanks for your feedback. The central iceberg you've mentioned in your review isn't meant for players to be climbed. I wanted to place other platforms, but the creator doesn't have platforms with corners less than 90 degrees so I placed currently available platforms.

Mr. Echo As it's there people will try to climb it. It is a shame there's not more shapes available but I do think it could still work as climbable iceberg. I made the long swim over to it during the event and was a little disappointed there was nothing there to find. Just an idea though as there's very few swimable maps I've played that work anywhere near as well as yours.
