Can You Build It? #20 August 1

I'm thinking that we may have the same themes for the following event (also in August), because I can't see the Creator being fixed before August 2nd. Thoughts?

We may as well wait and see what happens on August 2nd. If nothing's fixed then using the same theme (but only new jobs) makes sense, but if plenty of new props are available + usable for all gamemodes then using the new stunting props in any DM/ capture could be quite a fun challenge to encourage creators to think outside the box with the new toys. grandmasterhoot could get his wish yet  It'd be such a waste if prop levelling wasn't fixed in-time for the new update, although I'm not optimistic either.

Hey Everybody! Had a blast playing this month's CYBI event with everyone last night. I'm going to attempt to keep up the tradition of leaving videos with reviews and highlights after each event I attend.


Trophy Truck Train-ing by Loftonian


Review: Reviews Welcome. One small note based off feedback during the event: I will be completely blocking off the tunnel entrance on either end of the course with more fences and a safety return ramp in case someone gets glitched out of the course and somehow manages to survive.

Highlight: 8m50s Hit and Run followed by a sacrifice to the train.

Fly Like a Rock Star by terto123


Review: Very relaxing air race with besra jets starting up north and working your way into the city. I don't play air races too often but found this one to be fun and not too difficult for someone with moderate piloting skills. A little tough to gain on your enemy besra jets but otherwise very fun!

Train Survival Runner by JC2-FAN-FOREVER


Review: I really enjoyed the balanced chaos in this one. Especially giving each team a golfcart, which helped stir things up a bit, as well. At times I thought there might have been too many floating gas tankers, but they really do help move things along in this LTS based around a portion of the train track. Loads of fun!

Rails Contract by Eyezgamer


Review Small to Medium sized TDM arena set atop the train-bridge over the waterfall. The thing I liked most about this TDM arena was that there were multiple 'lanes' of combat, each with their own designated cover systems. Nice, diverse use of props. And the different levels of the arena were spaced so I could jump down without dying if I attempted sneak attacks. Good weapons choices, too. Lots of fun!

Review: An air race that holds true to it's title. Navigating tightly placed checkpoints above bridges and between power lines with a stunt place, while avoiding everyone else, had me exclaiming profanities in the name of good fun! A couple checkpoints had me respawning a little close for comfort above some bridges, but that's what makes it challenging I guess. Good length, challenging checkpoints, fun air race.

Highlight: 3m30s That damn dam got me good Oh, and Chrisiecream.

Demo Derby Express #CYBI by Hephaestos76


Review: LTS in an enclosed path on train tracks starting teams on either end with hills that go above the 'train height' and back down to ground level. You must ride the train to get the grenades, otherwise you're equipped with flare gun and have molotov pickups. Drive purple or yellow rhapsody cars towards the enemy while avoiding the train and the lucky ones who get grenades. Really enjoyed this one, especially when I was able to snag the grenades that one time. Loads of fun!

Highlight: 4m Make sure to look both ways before pulling the pin!

Review: A raid type capture that pins 2 teams against eachother in an enclosed arena with 2 wide open areas on either end, and an open arena in the middle, connected by hallways that are train-width apart on the train tracks. Lots of vehicle types and some heavy weapons choices placed throughout make it a challenge to capture the bags. Cool prop structure resembling a construction vehicle in a couple spots. Had fun with this one but the 20 minute round lengths would have been better suited to first to 1 as opposed to first to two. Team 2 respawn zone was a bit tricky to navigate but once you realize the right way to go it's not that hard. Teamwork is a must to capture the bags. The diversity and vehicles and weaponry made this one very enjoyable.

Highlight: Had 2 highlights on this one. #1: Clearing a path for the team. #2: The train never stops permanently. Remember that.

Review: Reviews Welcome. I plan on fixing the ramps and making them 'reverse-built' as suggested by JJ as well as placing the respawn zones ABOVE WATER to prevent having to swim up a mile.

Review: Cool concept for a GTA boat race which would have players use boost pickups to clear a loop-de-loop under a bridge. However, this wasn't the case with 18 players as the first person to crash at the base of the loop-de-loop created a huge, impassable pile-up. I would love to give it a go with less people though. Looked really fun. Had to cut the broadcast off early because I was honestly getting a bit frustrated with the whole thing.

Highlight: None since I cut off broacast early. Sorry. I was able to eventually successfully make it halfway up the loop with a boat, but much to my surprise there was a boat stuck at the apex of the loop!

Review: Small to medium sized open-air outdoor deathmatch arena set in the desert with props made to resemble a spaghetti western film. I really enjoyed the look and feel of this job. Definitely the perfect location for a western look. I thought the playing area was well positioned with areas good for cover or for 'running and gunning.' The water tower was an excellent sniping location as well. My only gripe might be that the respawn points were completely unprotected, however they weren't super close to the combat zone it's really a non-issue. Either way I thoroughly enjoyed this one, as well!

Review: GTA Race set in muddy, rainy conditions on a windy race-track inches above the water line with a 30s countdown last-place death-timer. Definitely a troll-race, but a very fun one. Attempting to navigate the course without spinning out was a challenge in and of itself. But avoiding GTA rocket fire, as well!? Props to DOC for pointing out the troll-island in the center Had fun on this one and was happy to make it to 8th place.

Highlight: 5m43s spectating in cinematic mode when witnessing a phantom wave levitate obviousbaka over top of UniqueAsh's GTA rocket

Planes Trains Automobiles by Hephaestos76


Review: Gotta love a forced respawn capture!! After being mercilessly executed by the Police atop one of the skyscrapers in downtown LS, you will find yourself respawning in Hydra jets near Paleto Bay. The goal is to navigate your hydra into the floating-platform obstacle course in hover mode. You must fly up and down through the course, all while avoiding enemy hydras, until you reach the capture bags. From that point you have to get out, grab a bag and drive the short-distance to your capture point. I personally never got to finish the course because I was constantly being blown up by enemy hydras. However, I quickly learned to let the enemy do the work and then just steal the bags after they exit the course I enjoyed the unique nature of this job and how it made you have to stop for a second and think about how exactly you would achieve your goal before proceeding.

Highlight: 14m42s providing covering fire to a running teammate via hovering hydra.

Review: Drive in a circle Nascar style using motorcycles (mainly Sanchez'). Oh yeah, it's also about 2 miles in the air and one small mistake will send you careening over the edge where a 2 minute freefall awaits you. Did I mention there are GTA rockets? A simple race gets an exciting twist. Perhaps custom motorcycles should be turned off though as I feel that gave an unfair advantage over those who don't invent in motorcycles. Either way, enjoyed this one a lot.

The Skybase Troopers by nortoncaferacer


Review: At the onset I knew this would be pretty cool because there are cargobobs and tanks lined up for each team to grab, leading to a lot of different potential aerial battles. Unfortunately I screwed up by parachuting BELOW the floating fortress and was forced to swim ashore and wait out the first round. The second round the enemy team secured the fortress first and again I was forced to pull crazy stunts to attempt to land on it, failing every time. I never got a clear view of the layout of the floating fortress, but it seemed pretty well laid out from what I could tell. I would suggest having a few weapons on the locations with health-pickups that enable you to kill yourself so you can respawn in a cargobob if you get stuck like I did. All in all, decent fun. Honestly it needs another playthrough on my part before I can legitimately critique it.

Mario Train Kart by therealSUB1000 - Unfortunately I did not play this one.
