RaceWars 18, Sunday 16th August @7.30PM BST

Had some good fun last night. Thanks to Ath for putting it on and GCCC in general for having RRR along and providing a strong old lobby. I've got some history in race reviewing so thought I'd drop some in for you, having seen it done before here.
Please do note that these are just personal opinions and that your race belongs to you, my notes only carry the weight you wish to give them. I say this because I do tend to look at races and bring up points where they could be improved, rather than focusing on positives.... Sometimes that can read like a negative review....

Three Piece Turn 3:18
A decent route here. We did an event in RRR a little while ago which was about overlapping routes, it's only when I watched Jims vid that I really appreciated that triple use of the turn, I never saw much of it myself in race, for some reason.
CPing is about right overall, tho I think there's a trend towards being a bit late in the turn. One in particular gave me a bit of confusion and made it difficult to judge- CP 14, where the apex of the turn is actually well before the CP. I can see why it is where it is but I'd pull it back to the end of the barrier wall and use a few props to make sure you're funnelled into the next road clearly.
Prop wise it's a bit of a mixed bag. I liked that ramped turn with the tree you've made, looks pretty cool. Elsewhere I think they need tightening up and theming a bit more. Seems like you've used every different type of barrier, lol. I always stick to 2 or 3 similar types in order to give the whole track a particular look. That said, I'm not too fond of tyre walls where you can't see over or round them to where you need to be and if you're propping the inside and outside of a turn, you need to use different props for both in order to define it visually.
In tightening them up, you've got props in places you don't really need them and places where you could use a few more to fill out and complete a wall, for example. Switch glitching barriers together is a great way to seamlessly blend a wall together and close up a turn.
It was all very clear tho, in daylight at least, so there were no problems with them doing the job they're there to do.
All in all, very minor points and no gamebreakers. I'm told you're new to creating so it's a nice bit of work.

Scumbag Rally
I really enjoyed this, quite possibly because I've done a lot of races in the quarry and did well for once, lol. 
Fun route, nice blend of mental with a couple faster bits. CPs are all good. 
Props are a sticking point for me. I think the stripey barriers are something of an eyesore when used en masse, especially somewhere like the quarry. I also think you don't actually need most of them, the route and CPs are clear enough on their own nearly all the way round and there's only few places where I think people go wrong without them. CP 9 does need protection on the outside, the alternate road at CP 8 needs to stay blocked and the hairpin at 5 and 6 has to be defined. The rest of your prop allowance could be used to just make the place look cool, you could go mad with that.
I tend to use the plain shuttering here as it blends in, then festoon the place with rocks, bushes, trees, lights, fruit stalls....

Two Wheeled Vindication
I like a bike race I do. This has got potential but there is a few turns that just BAM ALL UP IN YOUR FACE, which is a pain when it kills you, lol.
The turn at CP 23 I would lose tbh. I've run one of my own bike tracks up that detour and felt like it interrupted the flow of a nice corner. As well as being very deadly. Plenty of other tight turns in here so the flow of the track would be helped by opening a couple bits up. Like the hairpin you put in just at the end of the lap, felt like an interruption to me, the relief of full throttling the lovely wide road after surviving the narrow ones. All a matter of taste ofc and if you like killing motorcyclists, then keep on keeping on
Start is a bit weird to me. They're such a pain to place on these roads but I'd maybe look at moving it somewhere more open. Even bigger pain to move a start ofc. 
Don't remember any CP or prop issues in particular, these roads are more about ignoring them and reading the tarmac itself. 

Autopia
This was my favourite of this list. I saw the map and kind of inwardly groaned tbh, lol. I grew into it lap by lap tho and by the end I was really loving the flow.
Obviously that ticket booth was out of place, lmao. The other thing that was brought up was the big corner cut at CP 3 I think it was. That really does want blocking as it spoils a nice turn. Quite a bit of cutting across grass and things here but apart from that one, none of it really bothered me and if they were blocked off, I reckon the track would become kind of choked and restrictive and the flow of it would suffer. It really depends how 'clean' you want it to be.

TextileCityGrandPrix
Route is ok but over at RRR we run most races in contact, the multiple crossovers here, and the fact that it's billed as a GP, completely rule contact out. GP to me is all about racing top line tracks in full contact, clean racing. Personally, I'd take about a mile off the distance and link the track up avoiding those crossovers. The route is yours of course and in NC, it's sometimes nice to see other people going the other way.
CPs require some work, a lot are waaaaayyy too early. They need to be on the apex or possibly, just slightly before. Yours are actually in the road, before you even start to turn. The spread of CPs is ok, just the placement of them.
Propping seemed slightly random but actually wasn't, I think because the lone runway huts kind of stick out and maybe clash visually with the yellow tyre walls, I don't know... Maybe it was because they, and the flags, were in slightly different places in relation to the turn... You got me

Classic Vinewood
Good simple track with low key props, you can't really go wrong. Enough challenge to keep it interesting, enough interest to keep it fun. The one point on here that caught a few people was CP 3. It's well off that path on the right hand side, that path that barely looks like a path. A few missed it and I had to move over to get it a couple times, was cutting it very fine. I'd just maybe put something really subtle like some bushes on the path to subconsciously dissuade people from driving over that way. Or move the CP over a tiny bit and allow some path. Big wide turn, tricky balance.

I Own This City
Perfect in every way ofc. I do need to budge a CP a tiny bit and 26 people with some lag found and dropped poles that have never previously been brushed!

Vinewood Nature GP
Obviously designed with contact and GTA mode pit lane in mind, something we do an awful lot over at RRR. Here, in an NC race, that caused a couple issues. I tend to make my pit lanes so they don't really appear in the race at all if you're not running it in GTA. In fact, the mystery props at the side of the road in mine caused some confusion as to their purpose, I'm not sure who it was who's curiosity took them off the track to investigate, lol.
With this one here, I think some of you may have involuntarily driven up it and gotten mixed up in the forced chicane there. It could be off the race track a bit more and less of an invitation. 
With the pit lane exit as it is, the CP directly after it is necessarily wide. It IS on the racing line but sometimes you don't take or see that line for whatever reason and where it is, it can be missed and can also appear unnaturally wide.
Personally, I absolutely love this track and neither of those points would've occurred to me if I hadn't run it with you guys last night.

Life Invader Speedway
I admit, I last run this track on PS3 in an endurance event in sedans I think. I only remember enjoying it a lot. I looked at the map when going through for GCCCRRR races and went oh yeah! Had a great time on this. 
The route, I like a lot, obviously. The CPs, all good. The props, issues. Poles were a common feature in all the races ofc, there's only so much protection you can offer and with the numbers, some lag, you're gonna get poles. Here, there's really quite a few props that could be sacrificed as not entirely necessary and moved to cover some of the more glaringly vulnerable poles.
To start with tho, you need some more props on the start straight to close off that left hand lane. In the dark, you can't see that it's closed at the LI turn until its way too late. You'll see the fun I had there in the vid Coach.
One more point that caused a bit of trouble, CP 18, that last barrier there is turned inwards and the CP kinda points at it. Either rotate the barrier so it's more visible or push the CP a little further fwd. a few crashes there.
Finally, red n white stripes everywhere. I'm told this suits the LI theme and is purely down to personal taste

Granite City Circuit
Really good race this. Fantastic flow and variety to it when you get in the groove. Not for the faint hearted, that 1st, 2nd AND 3rd turn are massively challenging, its taken me a while to get to grips with them and they still bite. My 1st thought when I ran this the 1st time is move the start elsewhere but hey ho. Then there's a good couple of other sections that screw with the unwary. But I love it.
I have a silent personal crusade to stop Deej using tyre walls on the inside of turns, such as at the chicane. They suck visibility. The reason it's silent is because it's pointless
At least he just saves it for special occasions.
