World Off-Road Championship #46: Tues. July 4th & 6th

Each Track Review will start with a brief description of the track. I will then go through and point out what I Like and Dislike with suggestions for improvements. I will be looking at things like Track Title, Description, Picture, Default Settings, Vehicle Selections, Routing, Propping, and Checkpointing. Overall build quality, Flow and Ease of Route, Contact Race Suitability. Extra features like Pit Lanes, Joker laps, and GTA Mode.

I will use the following keys for each point:
+ Positive Point: A feature I like and was well done.
+- Neutral Point: A feature I'm impartial to, Making a note or very minor criticism.
- Negative Point: A feature I Dislike or Needs improvement.
= 1 to 5 Rating: Overall rating based off of Objective points and Subjective feelings.
5/5: Very High Quality Build. Nearly perfect in all areas featuring Unique Propping and Routing that makes the track really stand out. Overall Very enjoyable experience.
4/5: Above Average Build. Good Propping and Route Layout. May need minor improvements or just lacks that something extra to make it really Unique and stand out. Enjoyable experience.
3/5: Average Build. Average use of propping and/or Route layout. May need a few things improved. Doesn't offer much to make the track Unique.
2/5: Below Average Build. Propping and Route needs improvement. Not much thought into Route and Prop placement or choice. Many areas need improved. Overall not very interesting and/or enjoyable.
1/5: Poor Build. Poorly built and designed in all areas. Most likely will never be included in this event until improvements are made.

I will try to keep the reviews objective and constructive. Please don't be offended if you disagree with my points. You are welcome to discuss the review in a respectable manner. Also, you are welcome to share your reviews as well. the more reviews, the better.

Outback Blazin' by hyjkd
A quick paced Off-Road course through the Senora Desert and Great Chaparral Hills. Designed for the Trophy Truck. Can also be played with SUV’s.
+ Good Title and description.
+- Off-Road class is locked to Trophy Truck and Desert Raid. I think only motorcycles and slower off-roaders that can’t clear the jumps should only be removed. Trophy truck will be the obvious and dominate choice. But track would also be fun in many other Buggies and 4x4’s.
+ Fun and interesting route layout. featuring mixed terrains and surfaces that is fast and fun throughout. Propping makes the route flow better and multiple small jumps give it Baja style fun.
+ Well placed Ron’s Drop signs give good warning of critical areas to slow down for.
- Sharp right turn past CP-11 could use a barrier to prevent from going off the cliff. This was a common area that many went off course.
+ Enjoyed the well done gap jump past CP-18 and heading done the ravine towards the river.
+ Quick dip in the river was a fun feature. The track heading out of the river with banked sides was nicely done.
+- Saw some drivers overshoot the big jump over Route 68 past CP-34. I never had an issue myself and it appeared to be fairly easy to get back on course. Perhaps some extra barriers or extended landing area could reduce incidents. Or maybe it is just driver error.
= 4/5: Blazing fast off-road course through the hills and desert that offers loads of fun for the Trophy Truck.

Uncle Pervy's Rally XXX by coachwargo
Short and quick Rallycross circuit at the Airport. Includes a joker lap and features a crossover jump. Open to most classes.
+ Great title and funny description.
+- What, no Vans? Surely Uncle Pervis has a van he would like to race around picking up little girls with.
+ Good Rallycross layout that is short and quick in a small area.
- I think CP-5 should be moved to the center of the hairpin or to the left side. So the chevrons are pointing in the direction of the correct path instead of implying that you turn around and go back from where you came.
+ The crossover jump is a fun feature I love to see on Rallycross tracks.
+ Message in sky goes with the theme of the title and description.
+ Spectator stands look good and help give the area a stadium Rallycross feel.
+- Nice joker lap that is easy to enter and exit safely. Though it is easy to miss the turn before the joker and enter it accidentally. Perhaps some added arrows to help direct you towards the standard lap would be helpful.
- CP-12 is too close to finish. I think it would be better to move CP-11 to the left of the joker lap entrance to help make the standard lap more obvious. Then move CP-12 to where CP-11 is currently.
= 4/5: Fun and authentic Rallycross circuit that will work well any class.

Bounce Like You Mean It by agrajag
Mixed terrain and surface technical off-road course weaving around the hills, bridges and tunnels of Murrieta Heights. Designed for bouncy rides like the Trophy Truck and Contender. Turn customs off for suitable choices. Several classes available.
+ Good title and detailed description.
+- Nice custom off choices for Off-Road and SUV’s. I haven’t checked what the other classes are locked to. Vans may work with the Gang Burrito and Rumpo Custom. Also think the Dubsta 6x6 would also make nice bouncy option for the SUV’s class.
+ Good route layout that gives you a nice mix of terrain and surfaces. I like the inclusion of water crossings and tunnels.
+- I think a banked turn at the first off-road hairpin could make it flow better. It does however work good as is taking it slow and steady.
- Barriers placed on top of tube just past the water crossing will flip you if run up the side of the tube. Needs a better banked corner or barriers angled in so they don’t flip you over.
+- Tube on hill near CP-11 has an inviting open entrance that I saw some try and fail to drive through. Perhaps close off the entrance.
= 4/5: Fun and interesting off-road route in Murrieta Heights for your bouncy ride.

Chumash Rally-X by theicide
Short and quick Rallycross circuit around Chumash. Takes you up the windy mountain road a bit before jumping off into the drainage the dumps you onto the beach. A quick run down the beach with a ramp taking you back up to the road. Finishes with run whizzing by the beach houses. Includes a joker lap. Open to all classes.

Monster Mudders by juicy
Grab a Marshall or Liberator and splash through the water and muddy lake bed of the Land Act Reservoir. Includes some jumps and humps.
+ Good title and detailed description.
+ Off-Road class can be locked to Marshall and Liberator only when customs turned off.
+ Varied and interesting route layout. Starts off with a flat wet slalom on top of the Reservoir. features jumps and humps to keep it fun. Nice splash in the water after going over the humps. Then it’s playing in the mud for a bit before a short dirt road run to a jump to the finish.
+ Propping looks and good and suits the theme of the track.
+- I think the open layout works better on this track compared to the similar track in this area built for motorcycles. However I do think some spots could use more barriers defining the route more. Namely a dividing barrier splitting the route between CP’s 11-13. So it will force you to go over the tire humps there, which currently can be easily bypassed. It’s just a personal preference. It still works well the way it is.
+- Mud section can be a bit rough in monster trucks with some rocks that can easily be hit. There really isn’t a solution to avoid all the unforeseen rocks and bumps. It’s just the nature of the area and the odd handling of the monster trucks.
= 4/5: Fun and challenging Monster Truck track through mud, water and bumps.

Track biased Indoor Rallycross track with a short dirt section. Includes a joker lap. Most classes available.
+ Good track title and description.
+ Supers can be locked to Sultan RS, Bullet or Voltic. I do like running the Sultan RS on this track.
Some vehicles are too tall in Off-Road and SUV’s going under the low overhang before dropping down from the upper level. May need to remove those classes or restrict to low vehicles only with a warning added of the low overhang in the description.
+ Consistent Orange propping looks good and goes with the theme of the track title.
+- Route starts out feeling like a general GP winding around on track pieces before dropping down to the highway. The short dirt section, joker lap and narrow bridge are the only rally features. It’s a nice route layout. Just would like a bit more Rally feel to it.
- Joker lap entrance and exit are rough. I think it needs to merge back onto the track smoother to avoid incidents. Maybe move Joker back to a better spot so that it can merge on and off the track smoother.
- Entrance onto narrow bridge could use a outside barrier to prevent collisions at corner of bridge railing. Red flashing lights do offer a nice warning.
+ Rocks past bridge look cool. Nice steep climb up to a banked corner to finish.
= 4/5: Cool Pumpkin themed track that works nicely in Supers or Sports Rally cars.

Offroad Sedan Race! by Tesseractor
Point-to-Point Off-Road Race built for sedans. Can also be played in a few other classes. Track starts near Stab city and heads through Raton Canyon, around the backside of Fort Zancudo, Along the Zancudo River and finishing at the Sandy Shores Airfield.
+- Track title is bit generic. Okay description.
+- Route is fairly average sticking to mostly well established dirt roads. Propping is very minimal and lacking in many areas. Worked well in custom sedans like the Warrener or Stratum.
+ I like the option to take the risky stunt jump or you can stay on the safe dirt road.
- Checkpointing is spread out too far in many areas. Many apex corners could use checkpoints added. Some corners have checkpoints placed too early or hidden around a corner. Place each checkpoint so you have a visual of the next CP from the previous CP. Place them at the Apex of each major corner so the lines you see on the map connecting the checkpoints follows the contour of intended route closely.
- Add barriers to block off roads not being used at intersections to help direct you down the correct path.
- Past CP-8 along Raton Canyon the road turns left and there is open spot that is a common spot for many sliding off the side of the canyon. This is crucial area that could use barriers.
- CP-16 where you turn left to go around the backside of Fort Zancudo. There are blue barriers place a little beyond the turn. So if you go too wide you end up crashing into a sign or a fence. I noticed the tire stacks on the hill and realized there is secret short cut over the hill. I would pull back the barriers back so it will direct you to go over the hill. The small arrow signs you have placed are barely visible and I don’t think anyone noticed them and missed the route over the hill.
- Driving along the backside of the Fort Zancudo there are two drainage ditches that are a bit rough. I think they should be filled in for smoothness or ramps added to jump over.
- CP-22 is hidden around a corner and appears to be placed so there is an option to take a shortcut over the hill. Again, I feel the short cut should become the main route by using props to direct you over the hill.
- The final corner before the Airport is also a common spot for incidents that could be resolved with well placed props to either keep you from hitting obstacles or to go over them.
= 2.5/5: Average route that could use improvements in checkpointing and propping.

Hilltop Hustle by SZRT_CyberGawD
Off-Road lap race starting in Harmony heading towards and up over the hills of the Chiliad Wilderness. Quickly drops down into Raton Canyon, with a fast climb back up to the top of Mt. Josiah. Fast descent down towards Zancudo River. Finishing off with a high speed run through the hills of the Great Chaparral. Features some big gap jumps and drops. Defaulted to Off-Roads and best suited for high speed off-roaders like Trophy Truck, Desert Raid or Brawler. can also be raced with SUV’s or Sports. around 4 minutes a lap.
+ Great title that suits and describes track well. Description recommends which vehicles to use.
+ Route layout is interesting and varied. Has a fast flow throughout with plenty of fun features.
- Bumps before hitting the train tracks caused some incidents. Could use some adjustments in routing or props for smoother flow to the train tracks.
+ Climb up to the Chiliad Wilderness was nicely done. Arrow pointing down placed before the blind drop was helpful in lining you up for the correct line.
+ Loved jumping off the blind drop at the top by the Altruist Camp. The landing zone was large and was cool going under the bridge.
+ Slow down strips are well placed before the big drop into Raton Canyon. Big gap jump across had a good landing area. Slower vehicles will have trouble here. Better stick with the creators recommendations.
- Climb up Mt. Josiah had so many speed boosts and the track wasn’t a straight line. So it was quite difficult to control your vehicle on the climb.
+ Enjoyed the high speed drive along the top of Mt. Josiah. Great views and fun. Nice drop down the other side.
- After you cross the river, there is bump and speed boost. I sometimes had issues with the speed boost causing the vehicle to nose dive and flip over. I think it only happened with the Desert Raid and Brawler. But not with the Trophy Truck. I think the speed boost forces the nose into a bump.
+ Climb up the Great Chaparral Hills was quick and fun with a nice banked turn at the top. Fast descent back down towards the finish.
- I think the final banked turn could be rerouted slightly to avoid the trees sticking through the track.
= 3.5/5: Fast and fun off-road hustle over the hilltops that suits the Trophy Truck well. With some small improvements it has great potential.

El Burro Suites Rallyesco by hoperunsdown
Top voted track from previous round returns for another run. Ran in sports for this round. I noticed a couple improvements made after the event.
++ Visibility of barrier at CP-20 turn is better now and think it is easier to judge and navigate the corner.
++ The new banked corner at CP-46 flows allot better now.

Well built track on the Golf course returns for a second run by popular demand. Ran with the Off-Road 2 restrictions. Bifta’s, Dune Buggies, and Injections suited this track nicely.

Another top voted track from the previous 2 rounds. Returns with dirt bikes for a 3rd run. Makes a great motocross track.

theicide great feedback as always. I'll go back in and take a look at the CP issues. When is the rally cross event? I'll try to get it done before then.
