WHAT IS DEJA VU?
dé·jà vu| dāZHä ˈvo͞o/ A feeling of having already experienced the present situation. A tedious familiarity.
That's the Webster definition. This event should prove to be anything but tedious
Deja Vu is a monthly event in which GCCC, and affiliate, crew members may submit OLDER JOBS that have been IMPROVED IN SOME FORM OR FASHION. They may be ANY JOB TYPE (24 player minimum). That includes RACES, DEATHMATCHES, LAST TEAM STANDINGS and CAPTURES.
It does not matter if these jobs have been featured in, or even won, an event in the past... so long as they have been updated with significant improvements.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY IMPROVED?
Did you create something for an event 3 months ago, and then after the event you got some good, constructive criticism and feedback that led you to improve your creation? Was it a race that you realized Checkpoint #42 was slightly off, so you fixed it after it was showcased in an event? How about an LTS where you forgot to put those last 5 spawn points in the right place during an event, but now you fixed it?
Could be that you made a capture and after playing it in an event someone suggested you change the respawn vehicle and now it is close to perfection. Maybe a stunt race that had one too many chicanes or hairpin turns, but you've since tightened it up.
It doesn't even have to have been featured in an event. If you made it in the past, tweaked it, polished it and gave it your best elbow-grease and are fairly confident it's not only improved, but as close as it can get to being the best version of that creation... THEN THAT'S WHAT WE WANT!
WHEN IS IT?
4pm EST / 9pm BST Thursday May 25th, 2017 and will appear monthly afterward. Pre-Event Crew Lobby will open @ 330PM EST / 830PM BST. It is a NO KILLING CREW LOBBY. SUNDAY SKOOL after the event.
RULES?
Submit 2 of your Improved Creations or suggest as many of other GCCC creators jobs that would fit in the spirit this event. YOU MAY ONLY SUBMIT 2 JOBS PER EVENT (This might change in the future)
MUST BE 24 PLAYER MINIMUM CREATIONS FOR THIS EVENT! If it's so old that you created it on PS3 then you MUST UPDATE IT to a minimum of 24 players! There will be XTRA playlists for jobs that fall below the 24 player threshold, or for extra jobs.
NO TROLL JOBS. If you submit a troll job you will be banned from submitting in the future.
ALL submissions or suggestions must be within 8-10 minutes for Races. 15-25 minute maximum for DM's LTS's and Captures Please.More Detailed Instructions Per Job Type Below.
Post SHORT or FULL LINKS to the Submission thread with a general description on how you'd like your creation run for this event, or send them directly to me Loftonian via private message on the forum, Social Club, or my YouTube channel RandomGTAVMoments . As I said; 2 submissions per event. If you submit more than 2 I will use them as submitted, chronologically, per event.
NO MODDED or GLITCHED Clothing will be allowed. No BULLETPROOF HELMETS or MOTORCYCLE HELMETS (except during races). If you are found to be violating these rules you will be kicked from the playlists with extreme prejudice after a formal warning.
Depending on the submission types and quantities, multiple playlists will be created.
JOB TYPE DETAILS
RACES
Preferably 8-10 minutes max with default settings.
DEATHMATCHES
Preferably 10-15 minutes max with default settings. No spawn-trap maps allowed for this event. (Spawn-trap maps are the kind where all teams start in a common area and must navigate to the weapons, typically through a parkour style map, and then whoever gets the weapons first essentially massacres the remaining individuals / teams until the timer runs out. None of that, please.)
LAST TEAM STANDINGS
Preferably round lengths should be between 5 - 8 minutes MAX, unless you only want it played on 1 round. 3 and 4 team LTS will be set to 2 rounds max. Max play time should be approximately 20-25 minutes. 3 or 4 team LTS should be limited to 7 minute, 2 rounds max, please.
CAPTURES
Since captures are arguably the most intricate job-type, I will try not to inhibit the creativity by adding too many rules. The only rule is that round lengths must not exceed 8 minutes for 2 rounds, or exceed 20 minutes for 1 round. 3 or 4 team Captures should be limited to 7 minute, 2 rounds max, please.
