Railracer by geenopa background

This track is a remake of my Railrider on PS3. It was great to me able to make it all tarmac now. Although I still like ripping throug the gravel on the old one too. First race in which I found a way..and the patience, to lay trackpieces underground. Nothing snaps and all adjustments have to be made from inside the car.
I used to have traffic on so there would be the added thrill of a possible train coming around the next corner. But that also gave me cars traffic crossing the railroad. Blocked traffic in all sorts of ways but it was impossible to avoid a commuter or two on the racetrack. So I turned traffic off. Some say they still see a train..But I have yet to see proof! oh wait..

+ Coupes was a good choice for this track. Some very smooth corners that would have been a nightmare in Sports or Supers.
+ The trees offered a nice decor and some unforgiving challenging corners too. I liked that silky smooth bridge made of construction fences.
+/- I wouldn't mind a barrier around cp16. To avoid accidentally taking the highway. (ok. I was distracted at the time)
+ Good CP placement all around.


Pikes Peak: Ascent / Pikes Peak: Descent by atheistsw:

+ I like the chosen route with some ocean and mountain decor. Weaving between rocks.
- There were quite a few humps just before corners which had me flying into the unforgiving barriers or even more unforgiving tyrewalls. + checkpointing all clear.


Airfield Simplicity by jcast39

+ Neat propwork. buried tyrewalls. It was only after seeing the video that I noticed the complete dressup of the pitlane with trailers and tankers an all.
- I agree with coach that the wall between the pitlanes need not be more than fender height. the same goes for the wall at CP4.
- Not gonna break a race but aligning the cars on the startgrid shows you care.
- Avoid high props on insides of corners like at CP 3 4 6
+ Clear CP work all around. CP5 could go.


Super Mario Circuit by whiteywhite

+ That startgate must have been a blast to make. Wouldnt mind hearing how you went about that. Noticed some eyes missing on the rear side ;-) Its in view a full 3 seconds. worth two beach flags? Si?
- At CP6 its a confusing bit. I see you have tried to point left with the overhanging sign. But the buried tyrewall underneath is pointing right. Combined with the bushes blocking view to CP6 it took me a few rounds to get into.
- There is a long straight toward CP9. Yet I cant see CP9 untill the last moment. Maybe pull it out into the street from behind the tree. So its visible earlier.
- I see 4 or 5 different ways of poleblocking used. runway huts, tube ends, striped barriers in different directions. It wont hurt the race but I personally prefer a bit of prop consistancy.
-Chicane at CP17 just wont flow for me. I like a challenging chicane. But i miss the oversight on approach. It might help to lose the beachflag, Pull back and lower the yellow wall on inside corner plus raised trackpiece block.


Gargos' Adventurous Dream by juicy;

+ This has made enormous improvements since I first drove it with some rage!
-The start is oddly directed. The immediate right hand turn is confusing. If you cant fit starting grid on that hill just make a floating starting grid on a temporary trackpiece and drop it to the ground by picking up and dropping start grid.
+The first 20 seconds are my favourite. Dropping down the riverbed with (in my case) red 15 rear lights ahead of you. Its quite a sight!
-Then starts the enviromental disaster that you quickly get when you place those disproportionate and ill coloured stuntprops in the pretty landscape. Nothing the creator can be blamed for. And probably a personal taste thingie of mine.
All in all a fun track. With a lot less niggles than before.


Pisswasser Speed Ring by masapy072;

+ Really have to look for flaws in this one.
+ excellent pole blocking. Not an inch more than the pole itself is blocked off.
+awesome smooth transition from highway to downtown underpass at CP11. I see it has been made more narrow to avoid the generator lights. Those never bothered me and the track was a lot wider then.
-There are buried OBEY gantrys at cp 17 and 18 on insides of corners. They are too high and are blocking sight into the corner.
- Agin agree with coach about the tirestacks sticking out in the chicane. Im sure its not accidental. Missing the chicane as a racer, should cost you time. But not that much.


Circuit of Harmony by lancerevowrc;

+ Real drivers track. smooth where it needs to be.
+ Very clear CPs and correct corner propping. No surprises.


You Tool RX by theicide

+ How often do you see the startgrid markings used like they should be? That, together with the beautiful startgate gets this in my shortlist.
- Instead of a sight blocking fruitstand on inside hairpin coner CP1 maybe a lower prop to drive around. A tube end extending from the barrier at same height would be nice.
+ Consistant and very present theme.
-/+ The banked hairpin at CP9 is a much tighter one than the others. If it would fit i think a wide banked corner just like the others would flow better into the long highspeed section after it.


The Norton Revival. by nortoncaferacer

+ Nice rollercoaster route. Included some of the hairiest zero gravity bends on the map.
-/+ The extra long coners were fun. But can't help feeling one suddenly tightened up at the end.
- The situation at CP 27 sharp right hander needs something. I saw almost everyone overshoot the corner first pass. The cp could be pulled out a bit so its visible earler. maybe a bright low prop to mark the inside corner. The prop arrows didn't work for me. Made me slow down on second pass when the route goes straight. And didnt really prepare me when they were meant to.
-/+ The bumps and humps are unavoidable. Try and keep them away from corners.


SWISS-MOUNTAINS GP by fabinhoo_17

+ Pretty race. Good use of the most Swiss looking part of the map. Love the flag on the mast.
- The flag above the tunnels is an important detail. It deserves to be made flush if you know what I mean.
+ Although propheavy, your tunnels are very cool.
+ No bumps near corners on this track. I could speed into corners with confidence.
-There are no sideroads to use CPs for with these kind of tracks. Use them in such a way that they tell the angle of the bend in your road. Try to give every bend a cp and check in test if it is pointing at the correct angle.


Sandy Shores Rally NC by HiddenSaint27

-For this size vehicle, a small starting grid is not the best idea. If it is raced in contact mode the cars will be fused together at the start. And they react very agressively!
-/+ i think this race would be fine for sports too. hardly any offroad.
+ I liked the thrill of balancing on the narrow raised track flowing corners. Also looked good as backdrop at beginning of the lap.
-CPS less is more: there are quite a few on straights that, if they had not been there, the driver would have had more time to look at the next corner CP and prepare: 8 10 12 13 19 20 22 all could be dropped and would make your race more relaxed to navigate.
-CP 6 needs moving toward 5. 5 is pointing like a hairpin. Move CP 23 to tunnel entrance and drop 22.

Thanks geenopa for the perfect review! You are right about the grid position of my Gargo job. I retouched the track so many times and didn't see it. Duuh! Fixed it plus a few other things I detected when watching the videos. Should be less lethal now.
