Raceday Wednesday January 203 2016 (RDW 75)

1. Aquarius Speedway.

Really enjoyed this race. The course was well set out for high speed competitive racing. I loved the barge work. Extremely smooth. Not really much more to say. The only addition I'd say is to make it so we skim the water!

2. Jke Special 2016.

Apart from a dodgy landing first lap there is nothing wrong with this. Perfectly smooth stunt that challenged us all. Followed by a fast track with some challenging almost halconianesque. Great race look forward to your next.

3. BrokenBus Spiral 5

Talking about halconian; I really enjoyed his race. It worked well. I have a feeling he likes buses. Fast flowing with technically 4 spirals. Keep up the good work.

4. Infernal Loops

Fun, fast, smooth. Just a good all round race.

I don’t feel I’m qualified to vote because
a. I only took part in the second playlist
b. Stunting isn’t really my cup of tea, so I’m not a fair judge of these tracks.

That being said I do have a little feedback.

! JGR13 Spirals TSL by jager1381 and ${}$ BrokenBus Spiral 5 by TheHalconian
Both seemed like good builds. I particularly liked the way BrokenBus used the spirals twice on each lap. Any struggles I had here were entirely on me not being up to snuff and getting back into the groove of driving upside down.

Aquarius Speedway by atheistsw
Really good build that almost suits straight up racing. The only real flaw for me was the jump between CP 21 and 22. I want to be able to hit my jumps a full speed, and I felt like if I did that here I was just going to end up hitting the barrier. I would either remove the chicane (CP 22, 23, 24) and make it a straight shot to the finish line, or reduce the angle of the platforms so that drivers aren’t airborne going into the braking zone for the chicane.

C3R - Lizard Coaster by Crit3rion
This is the only race of the night that made me want to rage. The explosive hairpin seemed pointless, and everyone on a mic questioned its purpose. As for the stunt, apparently I’m the only person who didn’t know what to do, but I could not complete the stunt. I nearly quit the PL right here.

Freeway Driftway by The_Geo_Stigma
I’m glad I didn’t quit after the previous race, because I would have missed this one. Great drifting on a nice flowing layout. You NEED to open this up to the sports class. I want to replay this with Futos. The only flaw I saw was that the tire walls like to grab hold of cars. If it’s possible I would replace them with concrete barriers or construction barriers.

Great propping, so smooth. The giant banked turn was great. The HUUUUGE loop was awesome, and the camera made it seem even that much taller.
I don’t like the track is narrowed with props going into the wall ride. It just causes me to hit something, lose speed, and fuck it all up. Once that happened I had to respawn all the way back at the bottom of the loop and ended up being over a minute behind everyone. So, I would make the chute into the wall ride wider, and also add a CP on the platform before the wall ride. Respawning that far behind essentially ruined the race for me, since I only had a chance to enjoy the loop for one lap.
Regardless, this was still my favorite track of the night.

If you were in one of the 3 main lobbies for the second playlist I'll still count your votes 100% and not 50%.

But you should indeed have played all races of the event to be eligable to vote.

1)${}$ BrokenBus Spiral 5 by TheHalconian - quality build and based on mrng's spamming spirals and is 1st remake of ng's jobs that's been as good if not better so gets my no1 vote this week

2)! JGR13 Spirals TSL by jager1381 - don't like voting for own but the fact this works in multi classes gets my 2nd vote, especially as everyone knows my love of tsl's

3) FL47 Huge Loop Racing 3 by freakyleekspro - these loops just keep getting bigger and never ceaser to amaze me, brilliant job that never fails me.

4) ¢¢¢ Kidney Grinder by CCC_010 - final vote goes to this as its an original concept that hasn't been directly used as the main part of a race, feel like I had advantage though especially playing the 2nd version of this which zentorno doesn't work... but with the biggest spoiler on my zentorno that no1 else uses gives me the extra stability on my side lol

1) Kidney Grinder

I've first started messing with this idea 6 or 7 months ago, before the creator update. Was building on a side slide like this for 3 or 4 days straight and didn't get it to work consistantly back then. Ended up just laying the idea on ice and never publishing it. Recently looked through all my old builds which I never finished off and gave this one a new go. So much more easy to build now post creator update.
Adder and Infernus work the most consistant on this type of stunt. Especially if you increase the length of the slide. All other cars tip over after some time falling on their roof (Entity falls on it's wheels)
Quite happy with the result and working on several different variations of this stunt atm


2) Huge Loop Racing 3

Absolutely amazing build and really fun race around the stunts! Have played this a few times now and have never failed on any of the stunts. Perfect build! Stunt cam is a must on this one and the view from the stunt cam is breathtaking.
Must have been a fidgety build to get this 100% right. As was suggested before that monstrosities like these are real easy to build with templates, I would really like to see that tutorial!
If it was Zumzy's tutorial, his methods would not work on a build like this for 2 reasons:
1) the distance: to place one barge you would probably need a 12 prop template, so after placing eight segments you would have to move your camera to delete unneccessary props, thus you would have lost your center of rotation....
2) with that method you will not get smooth transitions as in this loop, at least not if you're using the full length of the barge. The only way to get a smooth flat transition with that method would be to only use a fraction of the barge length, thus micro-rotate and place (result would be a smooth mini loop)

I'm certain this was built the old fashioned way, manually pitching barges at slight increments and connecting template for template to make it grow. As I said it's very fidgety to get all props 100 % right this way, especially considering the small jump in the loop where the stunt cam trigger is and the gap through which you exit in the end. So, much respect for this build! Absolute keeper for the bookmarks

3) Broken Bus Spiral 5

Great design, great track and perfectly judged distances connecting the different freeway lanes... As smooth as it gets with broken busses. Another high quality build from the Halconian


4) JKE Special

Best and smoothest stunt I've seen from Destroy yet. Nice high speed race track too which is very fun to drive. Great on ramp to the vertical spiral. Very high replay value and staying in my bookmarks.



Random Reviews, no particular order:

C3R Lizard Coaster
All in all nice stunt. Only the flip entering the stunt could be refined imo. The car points upwards too much entering the stunt and you slam into the dummy proofing containers much too hard at an awkward angle. Once you're in the stunt it works beautifully. Checkpoint in landing zone is off to the right a bit. Nice straight forward track around the stunt

Aquarius Speedway
Very nice pure racing track with great use of the barge platforms. Really enjoyed this one.
One detail I noticed: After the long banked barge ride there is a sharp left which can come quite surprising if you're not prepared for it. In order to prevent cars from going over the edge you put pitched barges at the edge which just stick over the edge to form a guardrail. These barges are pitched a bit too much (more than 90 degrees) which causes your car to just go over them if you hit them too fast


JGR TSL Spirals
Lovely fast paced short TSL race... would it be possible to exchange the barge barriers on stunt exit with containers? Zentorno bricks on the barge barriers almost every time, forcing you to slow down in order to avoid hitting them


Bargezilla

Awesome high speed barge madness! Very smooth build and easy to hit. If you consider the invisible surface you can drive on this wallride should be higher than a regular 2 container high wallride... but people tend to get nerveous when they see barges
