Hold: Hitmen by dillono
So we played this Capture as part of dillono's own Seize event and in the fashion of the event at that time, it was undersubscribed and so we had just six people, but nonetheless it was an enjoyable mission. Cops are on, so you get this sense of it being as if you are in freemode when you hunt down the targets and take the briefcase they are carrying (npc's carrying stuff - I didn't even know you could do this - now my mind is whirring with possibilities), rather than in a mission, because it doesn't seem very often that one's actions have consequences in jobs. It also means that evading wanted levels is a good skill to have, because there's only so many times you can call Lester, if it's even available. There's only a limited number of briefcases, though a high carry limit (I think possibly even as much as the target score), which means that you (I was in a one man team) don't have to take your cases straight back to base, rather go kill another target, which I did and then attacked another player and took all his cases. Thankfully, he had the cops on him too, so it made my raid a bit easier. Of course, he wanted his cases back and so a high speed pursuit ensued, but I managed to lose him by leading him on to another target. Now I had enough cases to win the round (and match), but three minutes left on the clock. As soon as I returned the cases to base, the other teams would be coming to kill me and take them, so I cruised back intending to encircle my capture point with cars. Back at base, there were a goodly number of cars which were used to fortify the capture point, before I dropped the cases. However, with a few more people in the session, unless players brought some vehicles with them, there could be a shortage of vehicles, so cover could be fairly limited (in the two locations I saw (outside LSC in the centre and at the golf club), with the capture point being out in the open. Each team had their fair share of cars, but Rockstar's stingy 32 vehicles allotment just doesn't cut it in a four team job. I can't comment on the spawn points, because I didn't die, but given how quickly my opponent pursued me, I assume the respawns were around the base. These I suppose could be hampered by car-searching in a session with more people, especially as Captures can so often descend into raging gun battles, particularly when multi-person teams have to compete for a limited number of cases. Vehicles are essential for this capture, given how spread out the targets and your opponents bases are, plus you so often need to evade the cops quickly. I would like to try this again with more people, to see how it plays with that little bit more chaos and a few more deaths. I thought it would be great if it were possible to make players photograph the body too, to make it like a Madrazo contact mission. All in all, I found it to be a refreshing (and inspiring) concept for captures that I would gladly play again, particularly if more people are participating.
My creation is my first proper attempt at a stunt race - Dirty Raton. I've found custom cars to be a bit overpowered on one jump, so recommended to turn them off.
