Thanks to LuapYllier for the format and credit to stronktank and all the former judges on the original GTA Forums topic. Pretty much all the ideas in this post are taken from one of these two so thank you for a fantastic idea and the work you put into the original topic! On a personal note it was really only the work of the original topic that introduced me to the creator community so hopefully this thread can spark the same passion it did in me .
- Post 1 PS3 race that is completable in under 15 minutes (on default settings) with at least 25 plays! Submissions ARE allowed from non-GCCC members.

The Review
- Must be objective, to the point and constructive. Please do not be offended by a reviewers comments but feel free to debate them in a respectable manner. Reviewers should run the race with default settings (except for the number of laps).
- 2 votes are required for the race to approved with any "needs working" vote counting as a negative vote (i.e. minus 1). Any race with 2 or more "needs work" votes will be removed until proper changes are made.
Guidelines
Settings
- Has a decent title and description (e.g. no "ggg" descriptions)
- Starting grid size is appropriate for the default contact settings
- Class types and vehicles were properly limited to what is appropriate for the track.
- Traffic is off if there are road-blocking props on the track.
- Some thought has been put into the contact setting, weather, time of day and use of GTA elements although no race won't be approved for any of these).
Checkpoints
- Placed in such a way that they effectively direct traffic to the next checkpoint.
- Placed so that when the driver turns his/her vehicle in the direction the arrow points the next checkpoint is visible thus the path to it is intuitive.
- Checkpoints associated with jumps take into account what happens when a driver fails the jump and needs to re-spawn.
- Checkpoints on a high speed straight are far enough away from a corner point at the end of the straight to give the driver enough time to react to the corner and correct speed.
- Additional guidelines can be found in cuz05 's original GTA forum topic.
Props
- Do not obstruct the racer from racing but instead aide the racer as accents, gimmicks, control devices and/or warning mechanisms.
- Ramps are properly aligned and pointed in the direction of the target zone, are properly aligned and take account of all vehicles available to run the race with.
- Corner barriers are placed so that edges align or at least step further out as you traverse the corner. No protruding edges.
- If barriers used to delineate a corner a barrier that is tall enough to be seen when approaching up a hill or large enough to be seen from a distance at high speed have been used.
- Hazards and/or a difficult path has been made clear with props.
- Try to be CONSISTENT at propping and (in most cases) start prop work BEFORE the turn rather than providing a additional hazard after it.
More guidelines:
A guide on creating races and a comprehensive guide to creating land races by Johnnytep.
Review result
- Races will either be given the status: "Approved" (little/ no issues), "Needs work" (at least 1 major issues exist or 2 minor issues) or "Rejected" (Ignores lots of the original guidelines - please read them and correct the race before resubmitting).
- Races will be given the grade: 5 (Personal favourite), 4 (Near perfect and interest route), 3 (Good construction but in the judges personal opinion lacking interest somehow), 2 (Good construction but not to the judges personal taste).
- It is recommended you use the key: " + " well liked point, " + - " personal point/ note. " - " negative point and needs to be changed (assuming the track "needs work"). This keeps the review concise and let's people clearly know what needs changing.
How to become a judge
- In the opinion of at least 1 current judge has produced at least one grade 4 race and at least two grade 3 races.
- A review should be sent in private to the existing judges to check your reviews are acceptable.
Please volunteer (the worse that can happen is we say "No, not yet") you don't need to be a GCCC member to be a reviewer and without selfless reviewers this topic will simply die. Only through selfless work for "something bigger" can something amazing be achieved!
