Racing Line
(Set up by GM-HOOT)
For an introduction to the idea you can take a look at Ben's initial reviews here: gtacontentcreators.com/forums/topic/the-racing-line-by-gm-hoot/
Find them all using the #racingline search tag and select GTA Content Creators from the Publisher list. Dimi created a list of known Racing Line races, too (a little out-dated but still a excellent resource).
Introduction
The idea came about after playing Galileo's Gradients last weekend during Let's give a HOOT 5. I first played this job about 6 months ago and it has enormous reply value. This 5 x 0.64 mile lap race set at the Observatory is a perfect example of quality over quantity. This week I have created 4 (so far) homages to this track in the form of 'The Racing Line' series.I have been pleasantly surprised by the feedback and participation so far so I thought I would officially through down the gauntlet to everyone in the hope that we all can follow the theme.
What makes a Racing Line race?
I have a loose set of rules for these races which would be great if you could follow so we can clump them together. All races should be:
The reason I think this works so well is that each race becomes a battle for lap times as well as overall winner.Novice or poor drivers (like me) have a chance to really learn a track and better their driving skills by understanding a racing line.I personally can see vast improvement from my first lap compared with my 5th.
I title my races like this:The Racing Line - *Vehicle*
The description: A short lap race designed for the *vehicle* set in *location*
You can call them and describe them however you want but if you include the search tag #racingline we can group them together and come up with some really enjoyable little playlists and lobby fillers.
Try it yourself!
Have a go. No steadfast rules on this but a nice little concept nonetheless.

What makes a Racing Line race?
I have a loose set of rules for these races which would be great if you could follow so we can clump them together. All races should be:
- 5 laps only
- Max lap distance 1 mile (I prefer shorter if possible)
- Max lap time 50 seconds (ideally under 40 seconds)
- Non contact
- Clear conditions
- Day or Morning
- Set for 1 rarely used vehicle
- Match the vehicle with the roads and location.
- Ideally on roads/terrain less travelled
The reason I think this works so well is that each race becomes a battle for lap times as well as overall winner.Novice or poor drivers (like me) have a chance to really learn a track and better their driving skills by understanding a racing line.I personally can see vast improvement from my first lap compared with my 5th.
